Swine Department -   Welcome!

The Swine Department Committee members are happy to have you visit us - both on the web and at the Fair.

We volunteer each year to help children and adults show their swine. Everyone loves to see the pigs;, especially the mothers with lots of wigling babies. Visiting the animal barns is fun and educational.

Please feel free to take a look below at the categories we generally have to show. When at the Fair, you will find us lower-fairgrounds, in the Goats, Poultry,Swine and Rabbit barn.

OPEN GROUP CLASSES

Adult and youth compete together. All breeds compete together.  Adults and youth cannot combine animals for these classes. Only 1 entry per exhibitor per class.

Best Three Females - any age, all bred and owned by one exhibitor.

Pen of three feeder and/or market hogs owned by one

exhibitor.

Get of Sire - to consist of three hogs  - from different

litters - sired by one boar, owned by one exhibitor.

Outstanding Swine Herd - to consist of four hogs - one boar, two gilts, and one market hog owned by one exhibitor.

5G.

Club Herd - to consist of any three hogs, one each being raised by a recognized youth 4-H club or FFA group - shown by 3 members.

6G.

Herdsmanship Award, all exhibitors are entered (judged by the superintendents after the Fair is closed).$30
