Youth Exhibits

It's a fair within a fair! Marvel at 2000+ exhibits created by youngsters as young as 5 years old! The Durham Fair Youth Building houses crafts, collections, scarecrows, needlework, baking, artwork and photography in 5 – 13 and 14 – 17 age categories. Who knows, you might be looking at the work of the next Picasso!

2016 Events

  • Friday 10, 10:30 & 11:30 AM: Author Leslie Bulion meets with student readers to discuss her children's novel, "The Universe of Fair," set at the Durham Fair.
  • Friday, Saturday & Sunday 11 AM: Making Corn Husk Dolls demonstration
  • Friday, Saturday & Sunday 11 AM & 4 PM:
    • Scavenger Hunt
    • What is Scouting? Learn more about the largest youth organization in the USA and their efforts to develop tomorrow's leaders. Stop by the youth department and speak with Scout Master Robin Heath.
  • Saturday 11 AM & 1:30 PM: Come see Apple Pi Robotics, a shoreline robotics team, demonstrate their "Robot," learn about rotocis and have fun with technology. Fun for all ages.
