2024 Drawing Contest Rules

  • Contest will be conducted under rules and regulation of Connecticut Draft Pony Association.
  • $20 premium will be paid each team pulling the initial load and not winning any prize money.
  • The Durham Fair expects that all animals will be treated in a humane manner. Any exhibitor, or representative of an exhibitor, who treats any animal in an inhumane manner, or in a manner which appears to be inhumane, will be removed from the fairgrounds. All premiums and awards will be forfeited.

Classes

Under 46 Inches: Pull Class

  • 6 ft. Pull: All classes starting Saturday 10 AM
  • Prizes: 1st: $250  |  2nd: $225  |  3rd: $200  |  4th: $180  |  5th: $150  |  6th: $130  |  7th: $120  |  8th: $100

Under 50 Inches: Pull Class

  • 12 ft. Pull: All classes starting Saturday 10 AM
  • Prizes: 1st: $250  |  2nd: $225  |  3rd: $200  |  4th: $180  |  5th: $150  |  6th: $130  |  7th: $120  |  8th: $100

Under 34 Inches: Mini Horse Pull

  • 10 ft. Pull: All classes starting Saturday following completion of 10 AM classes
  • Prizes: 1st: $150  |  2nd: $140  |  3rd: $80  |  4th: $70  |  5th: $60  |  6th: $50  |  7th: $50  |  8th: $50

Under 38 Inches: Mini Horse Pull

  • 10 ft. Pull: All classes starting Saturday following completion of 10 AM classes
  • Prizes: 1st: $150  |  2nd: $140  |  3rd: $80  |  4th: $70  |  5th: $60  |  6th: $50  |  7th: $50  |  8th: $50
