Rosemary Allen Simmons’s Molasses Cookies

2012 Baking Court of Honor Recipe.

The Baking Department is pleased to honor Rosemary Allen Simmons of Windham, Maine, formerly of Middlefield, CT. As a young girl Rosemary entered several categories but her favorite was her grandmother Allen’s molasses cookies. In 1978 she earned a first place ribbon and Best of Show for them. She continued to enjoy baking during her adult life. Members of the Allen family have agreed to participate in the judging in conjunction with committee members. Help us honor Rosemary’s memory by entering the prize winning recipe below.
